AggreGateway and Nokia helped Dos Palos-Oro Loma Unified School District extend reliable internet access to 2,500 student households.

The Need

When learning moved online, reliable home internet became essential. But for many families in the rural Dos Palos–Oro Loma Unified School District, stable connectivity was limited or unavailable—creating a barrier to coursework, video instruction, and essential learning resources.

The Response

AggreGateway partnered with Nokia to consult on, design, and implement a private 4G/LTE network tailored to the District’s needs. The end-to-end solution expanded reliable connectivity beyond school grounds and into student households.

The Impact

The deployment equipped 2,500 student households with MiFi devices and free internet access, supporting minimum speeds of 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. The District can securely monitor and manage its LTE environment through Nokia DAC Cloud while provisioning Wi-Fi hotspots for student devices.

“As we put a plan in place for distance learning during the pandemic, we found we could only provide coverage for approximately 50% of students via commercial wireless network providers. Working with Nokia and AggreGateway, we are taking the next steps to level the field and ensure every student has the same access to our learning facilities.”
